Dancing Jellyfish!
Dancing Jellyfish!

For the love of Music Festivals

As a musician as well as a visual artist, I’ve had the opportunity to attend many music festivals and there was a fine one last weekend in my own area, the Hangtime Festival. There was a wide variety of Americana and Bluegrass Music, and that was great, but I want to tell you even more about the vibe and the visual treats of attending such an event.

People feel freer to express themselves in their clothing and accessories and so often their senses of humor are on display! The festival initiated costume themes for each day so attendees were encouraged by that invitation to go all out. Some were subtle. Some were over the top! I especially loved the outfits on Under the Sea day. There were a lot of glowing umbrella jellyfish that were amazing after dark. The parade of costumed stiltwalkers were a highlight each day and the friendly vibe embracing all kinds of people to just be who they are was a refreshing break from the typical news at large in the real world. You don’t have to get high to drop out and be mesmerized by creativity and loving acceptance. I hope that’s something you can find in your everyday life. But if you need a little boost, go to a music festival for a loving creative reset!
